New CD by Rachelle Garniez – Who’s Counting – can now be ordered in the JARO-Online Shop!

Who’s Counting, Rachelle Garniez‘ sixth CD, is a collection of sweet, solemn, and irreverent musings, by turns philosophical and surreal, lighthearted and tragic. Produced by Dick Connette, it sounds distinctly American, by way of New York, stemming from jazz, folk, and soul, and rooted in the spirited interplay between Tim Lüntzel’s bass and Rachelle‘s piano and accordion. Occasional horns and strings are added for atmosphere, and a guest appearance by roots-world band Hazmat Modine throws a swampy back-porch texture into the mix. Instrumental interludes were created to open the ears and cleanse the palate – it’s an album conceived to be gathered whole.

In October Rachelle will be on tour with Tim Lüntzel on bass in Germany and Austria!
