KLANG DER WELLEN VOL. 2 – Nami no Oto

16,00

In painting, the interaction between impressionism  and the Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblocks has already been acknowledged. On this CD, Kayoko shows us that the time has come for music to connect the knots. This comparative analysis will leave everybody senseless – “[…] one must just listen. Absolutely fascinating!” (Piano News).

The CD contains works of Miyagi, Debussy, Harada, Ravel, Sukegawa and Takata. With Nami no oto (“Sound of Waves”), Kayoko has for the first time demonstrated the influence of Japanese music on the music culture of the West.

Kayoko is a leading Japanese pianists. Her piano playing is in the tradition of German-French piano school. Her special love is the music of Robert Schumann, whose study gave her the impetus to move to Germany. The artist lives with her husband, cellist Thomas Beckmann, in the last home of Clara and Robert Schumann.
