The Bulgarian Voices ANGELITE have been fascinating the world for twenty years. To celebrate that anniversary, in the autumn of 2007 JARO Medien is releasing a DVD retracing the choir’s development from its beginnings to the present.

In the late 1980s their music circled the globe. Countless concerts on every continent, prizes and distinctions – e.g. two Grammy nominations – gave the choir’s name its lustre. Now insights into its multifarious activities are being made available to the public for the first time. They include a sampling of the current programme, recorded in Iceland, a Belgian television production with three portraits, brief excerpts from concerts all over the world and a documentation of the Mountain Tale project.

The DVD is a virtual journey in time through the choir’s past. Prominent guests from the world of music have often attended Angelite’s performances. One short sequence, for example, shows Stevie Wonder with the choir after a concert in Los Angeles.
