Short Info

Rajamani represents the multicultural life and sounds of modern-day Texas.

Texas Gypsy Fire is Oliver Rajamani’s exotic creation supported by some of the topmost legendary artists of Texas. Sung in English sprinkled with German, Romani, Spanish and colorful tongues from India, Rajamani’s poetic and spiritual lyrics speak about his home life in Texas as well as love, loss, divinity and more. He accompanies himself on such exotic instruments as the flamenco guitar, the sarod, the oud, the rebab and others, and is backed by traditional Texas musicians in cowboy hats and boots performing on the violin, drums, percussion, bass and keys. The sacred sounds of Native American Apache Indian musicians and colorful German and Hungarian Romani (Gypsy) artists, Dotschy Reinhardt and Kalman Balogh make the emerging acoustic image all the more fascinating.

Though Willie Nelson – one of the greats featured on “Texas Gypsy Fire” – needs no introduction, his famous guitar “Trigger” deserves mention for enhancing the authentic Texas sounds on this album. Trigger has served Willie Nelson and Texas music well for decades, crying out some of the most famous country songs of all time. And while we’re on the subject of Texas and guitars we mustn’t forget the infamous legendary Grammy electric guitar guru Eric Johnson or the Texas Grammy-winning slide steel guitarist Cindy Cashdollar.
